Counselor

Lorraine

Lorraine is a seasoned Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with 16 years of clinical experience in both hospital and private practice settings. She is licensed in Georgia as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) from the University of North Texas, Denton. Lorraine completed her studies through the UNT CACREP program, ensuring the highest standards of education and training in counseling.

Furthermore, Lorraine is a certified sex therapist (CST), having completed post-graduate studies through the Richmont Graduate University/Institute for Sexual Wholeness in Atlanta. This distinction sets her apart from most therapists, as sexuality is a specialized area that many professionals lack in-depth knowledge and training about.

Lorraine is an APSATS (Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists) trained professional. As a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS) through APSATS, she is equipped to support individuals dealing with the complex dynamics and trauma associated with betrayal.

Having completed extensive training with ERCEM (Early Recovery Couples Empathy Model), Lorraine is a Certified Clinical Empathy Specialist (CCES). This model is the 'cutting edge' therapy for successful treatment of couples in the early phase of recovery from problematic sexual behavior / betrayal trauma. The old models have kept both partners focused on "their own side of the street" as they say. But the ERCEM approach has been a 'game-changer' to help couples get through the often turbulent initial phase of recovery, offering the coupleship a way to approach the needs of the relationship from the get-go, and leading to a quicker recovery process. The tools mastered through ERCEM are foundational to the rest of the recovery journey as well.

Concurrently, Lorraine is completing the paperwork (early 2024) to be a certified disclosure guide clinician. Stay tuned for her announcement.
